In Beat 2.2.0+, you can add alternative versions of lines.

Either right-click on the line and select Add New Alternative for This Line, or press ⌃⇧⌘A . You can quickyl switch between line versions using ⌃⇧⌘ and left/right arrow keys, or using the same right-click context menu.

Note that line alternatives are NOT supported by the iOS version just yet, so dread lightly. They should be stored correctly, but can’t be switched.

Collaboration Mode

Being able to collaborate with another writer has been the most requested feature in Beat since, well, forever. It turned out to be much more complex than I had anticipated, and involved a ton of math problems and networking code, but I finally got it working!

Collaboration mode is still work-in-progress state, but somewhat usable. It’s available for my Patreon subscribers, and you can send a copy to your friend as well.

This version won’t be updated automatically, and could get overwritten by macOS when a new version of Beat is available on App Store, so you should store it in a separate folder.

I’m currently taking a summer holiday, so I won’t be replying to e-mails as often, but I’m still fixing any serious bugs. Hav e
