Once you have commits, you can select an older version of your document and automatically generate revision markers for all the changes. This is an useful way if you don’t want to have Revision Mode on and it also ensures that all actual changes are reliably registered.
To begin, click on Generate Markers in Version Control window.

Select the target generation and click on Generate.
Note that this action can not be undone, and if you have markers of a different generation intersecting with new markers, those will be overridden. This is probably the desired outcome in most situations, though.
